A SIMPLE LOOK AT HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2022

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” – This idea is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Every year on December 10, we celebrate International Human Rights Day, as an  adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). On this day we are celebrating all of our inalienable rights and freedoms, including the right to an education, a good standard of living, health care, freedom from discrimination etc. Thereby promotes awareness about human rights among the people.

Can you imagine a world without human rights? There can be no long-term peace, stability, protection, equality, or democratic policies. Years ago, our leaders made a huge number of human rights commitments on our behalf., that’s why now we are leading a peaceful, secure, healthy, and comfortable life. So we have an obligation to protect our human rights.

This year’s Human Rights Day theme is “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.” Let’s have a simple look at the origin and the 74th theme of the UDHR human rights.

The Origin Of Human Rights

The United Nations began the origin of human rights to the year 539 BC. The army of Cyrus the Great, freed the slaves from Babylon, declared that all people had the right to choose their own religion, and established racial equality. Human rights spread quickly from Babylon to India, Greece, Rome, and eventually all over the world. As a part of the universal declaration, the United Nations established the Commission on Human Rights. The member states of the United Nations pledged to promote universal respect for human rights. As a result, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted by the United Nations’ 56 members on December 10, 1948.

Since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, human rights have become more guaranteed and recognized worldwide. Article 23 of the 30 articles of human rights defines the “Right to Work,” implying that,

  • Everyone has the right to work, to a free choice of employment, to just and favorable working conditions, and to protection from unemployment.
  • Everyone has the right to equal pay for equal work, free of discrimination.

Organizations have a significant impact on how we live our lives and enjoy our human rights as employees. Let’s have a look at how Infolks obeys these rules and ensures the employee’s human rights.

Let’s Conclude

OHCHR shared this year’s Human Rights Day theme, which was a pleasant surprise. On December 10, 2022, OHCHR will launch a year-long celebration that will culminate on December 10, 2023, to mark the Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ 75th anniversary. We hope that the UDHR 75 campaign will increase global awareness of the UDHR by showing how the Declaration has guided the work of the Office.

Actually, respect for human rights knows no bounds, these are important in every aspect of the business. Human rights are necessary to protect and preserve every individual’s humanity. The way we define human rights has changing, the fight for our rights is still ongoing.
